Georgia Decks Plus for Home Repairs

Home repairs with an emphasis on the word Plus!

Believe it or not, being a magazine publisher doesn't mean my family doesn't have the same every day problems that all other homeowners have, particularly those of us who tend to ignore problems and put them off for a rainy day. Unfortunately, that rainy day was more deluge than sprinkle and In the span of a three months, our basement flooded twice due to groundwater (remember Sept. and Oct.?) and one toilet caused a inordinate amount of water damage to our main floor. Luckily, friends encouraged us to seek the assistance of Georgia Decks Plus. While the company name could cause some trepidation to a skeptical homeowner, Robert Klaus and his team of regular subcontractors have re-defined "Plus."

We needed to seal our foundation and have a footer drain installed to whisk rainwater away from the foundation. Despite the building code, our builder decided not to include one (imagine that!). Klaus and his team handled that job expertly, and even buried our PVC pipes from our gutters and downspouts to the optimal locations. The groundwater damage ruined a good bit of the sheet rock in our finished basement. No problem, GDP handled that too with great care.

With much of our carpeting and some of our flooring in need of replacement due to the toilet mishap, we acquired hardwood flooring from Robinson Lumber Co. in New Orleans (a gorgeous Brazilian Tigerwood) and asked Klaus if his team could handle the installation. We left our damaged house for five days during the installation process, and returned to find a warm home with a spectacular new floor expertly laid by Klaus' team. The crew moved our furniture out, and moved it back in upon completion. They carted away all of the old carpet and hardwood flooring, and visitors could barely notice that a work crew had even been there.

We still have more projects to complete during the next year, and everyone knows I am not exactly a do-it-yourself type, so it's nice to be able to place your trust with someone who will care for your home as he would his own. In my mind, and based upon my wife's and my personal experiences, Robert Klaus of Georgia Decks Plus is that person. He worked diligently with my wife to answer all her questions and allay her concerns about the pending projects. We couldn't be more pleased with the results! Maybe he can help us re-finish our deck too?

I built a new home in North Georgia. My builder included a small center deck with the home but I wanted to have an upper and a lower deck and more added to each side of the center deck. I hired Ga.
